Don't I have to be big and athletic to wrestle? Not at all. You wrestle vs your own sex (yes ladies, we want you out for sure) and your own body size (within about 5 pounds of your body weight). Anyone can come. Yes we have had alot of success but we are here to give everyone a chance to be part of a school team. If you would like to join and meet some new people and have some fun then we have a home for you as well. All that we ask is commitment. No one gets cut!! Come out and give wrestling a try!
No permission form no wrestling. You must have your form signed in order to step on the mat.
Practice Schedule
Practice will start Oct 14th after school. Meeting about the team and to get forms Wed Oct 9th
Monday and Thursday @ 3:20 and Tuesday and Friday @ 7:15
Cost
Cost for the season is $140. This includes the $60 team fee which all athletes pay to be part of a team. It also includes the tournament registration fee for each of the local tourney's we enter. Any out of town tourney's will be an extra cost and is not part of Sir Robert Borden Wrestling ( please communicate with the club scene if this is something that interests you). If you would like to do more than our season you'll need to join a club program, we can help you in that process as our members are part of the 2 clubs that Ottawa has available for your interests. If you cannot buy a team singlet then one will be provided to you free of charge but it will be one of the old school ones. Team singlets cost $75. If you are not sure that you want to wrestle past this year you can rent the singlet for $25 for the year. You will also buy the team gold long sleeve dry fit shirt for $15. It's great to warm-up in and practice in and makes us really stand out in tournaments as a united team. You do not need to buy ear guards, knee pads or boots but if you choose we can bring in samples and get you these items at a very reasonable price. Should you have any issues with the costs of the season, please see Mr Barbier to discuss this further.
Breakdown
The SRB wrestling team has now proven itself over the years and has become a force to be reckoned with in the city. Great success with wrestlers qualifying for OFSAA. High hopes for this season with most of our team coming back, the future certainly looks bright!!
